Okay, so today I was trying to figure out who’s running in the Preakness. I know it’s a big deal in horse racing, like the second part of the Triple Crown. I got curious ’cause I heard a lot of buzz about it.
First, I tried to search up all the info about it. It took me a while, and the info was all over the place. I started reading some articles, and they were talking about this guy named Albarado who won the Preakness a few years back with a horse called Swiss Skydiver. Apparently, that was a big deal ’cause it happened during the whole COVID mess and beat some other champion horse named Authentic. Sounds like a movie, right?
Then, I found out that another trainer, Brad Cox, was sending a horse named Catching Freedom to the race. I guess they had a meeting or something and decided it was a good idea. It made me think about all the discussions and stuff that go on behind the scenes. It’s not just about the race itself.
Here’s what I found out:
- The entries for the race were gonna be drawn on Monday at 4:30 p.m. EDT. That’s when they officially decide who’s in and who’s out.
- There’s this horse called National Treasure with a jockey named Velazquez. It has odds of 4-1, but it seems like it hasn’t won any races in 2023. I guess it’s kind of an underdog?
The Whole Process
I spent a good chunk of the day piecing all this info together. It felt like being a detective or something, trying to find clues in different places. It was pretty fun, actually. I’m not a huge horse racing fan, but I got really into it today. It made me appreciate how much goes into these big events. There are so many people and horses involved, and it’s a whole world of its own.
