Okay, so, let’s talk about today’s bowl games. I’ve been following this stuff for a while, and I gotta say, the whole bowl game season is a wild ride. It starts getting interesting around the New Year’s Six – you know, the big ones like the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, and so on. Those are the games everyone talks about.
I spent some time looking up the history of these games. Did you know the Rose Bowl started way back in 1902? That’s ancient! It’s become this huge tradition, and they’ve been doing it every year since 1916. Usually, it’s the Pac-12 against the Big Ten, which always makes for a good match-up. Back in the day, each bowl had its own deal with certain conferences. Like, the Sugar Bowl was all about the SEC champion and the Orange Bowl had the Big 8. Things are different now, but that’s how it used to be.
So, today, I made it a point to watch as many games as possible. I pulled up the full schedule online. It’s packed, running all the way through January. They’ve even got the College Football Playoff rounds mixed in there. It’s a lot to keep track of!
I started with the Music City Bowl. It had No. 20 Missouri playing against Iowa. The game was okay, started at 2:30 PM ET. I mean, it’s always fun to watch, but this one didn’t really blow me away.

- Watched the Music City Bowl.
- Looked up some history on the Rose Bowl and other big games.
Then I saw something about the LA Bowl, which was UNLV against California. It was scheduled for 9 PM ET. I thought about watching it, but I was getting a bit tired by then. There’re so many games during this time!
My Plan For The Rest of The Season
I’m thinking I’ll focus on the College Football Playoff games. They’re using all those New Year’s Six bowls for the playoffs this year, which is kind of a big deal. They’ve got this new 12-team playoff format, so that should be interesting. It is going to be pretty intense, I can already feel it.
I’ll probably keep an eye on the other games, too, but the playoffs are where it’s at. Gotta see who makes it to the national championship game! It’s a long season, but it’s always a good time. And honestly, who needs to go outside when there’s this much football on?
