Alright, so the other day, I was trying to catch a Sacramento Kings game. I’m not exactly what you’d call a “diehard” fan, but I enjoy watching them play now and then. The problem was, I couldn’t for the life of me remember which channel they usually broadcast on.
First, I grabbed the remote and started flipping through channels. You know, the usual suspects – ESPN, TNT, NBA TV. Nothing. I scrolled through the on-screen guide, squinting at the tiny text, hoping to spot the word “Kings” somewhere. Still nothing.
Then, I remembered that local games are sometimes on regional sports networks. So, I dug around online, trying to figure out which one is for the Sacramento area. Turns out it’s called NBC Sports California. Okay, progress!
I went back to my TV, browsed all the channel, I just couldn’t find that channel on my cable package. I double-checked my bill, looking for any mention of it. Nope, not subscribed.
At this point, I was starting to get a little annoyed. I just wanted to watch the game! So, I started looking into other options. I read somewhere that some streaming services carry NBC Sports California.
I checked out FuboTV, and YouTube TV. They did indeed have the channel. I signed up for the free trial, and finally, there it was – the Kings game, live and in HD.
In the end, I did get to watch the game, but it took way more effort than it should have.
- Check national sports channels (ESPN, TNT, NBA TV).
- Find out the regional sports network for your team.
- See if your cable package includes that network.
- Explore streaming options like FuboTV, and YouTube TV if you don’t have cable or the channel is not in your package.
