What are Saemapetch Fairtexs key strengths? Learn about his powerful left kick technique.

Okay, so today I really wanted to get some practice in, thinking about Saemapetch Fairtex. You watch guys like him fight, and it looks so smooth, but man, putting it into practice is a whole different story. I wasn’t trying to become him overnight, obviously, just wanted to borrow a bit of that energy, you know?

Started off just warming up. Loosening up the shoulders, hips, legs. The usual stuff. Gotta get the engine running before you try to push it, especially when you’re not exactly a spring chicken anymore. Skipped some rope, did some shadow boxing, trying to keep his stance in mind. That strong, balanced base he seems to have.

Trying the Techniques

Then I moved onto the heavy bag. My main thought was that heavy left kick he throws. It looks like it could chop down a tree.

  • Left Kicks: Spent a good while just throwing the left kick. Trying to get the hip turnover right. Honestly, most of them felt pretty weak. It’s frustrating. You see it, you understand the mechanics, but making your body do it with that snap? Whole other level. Felt like I was just swinging my leg sometimes.
  • Boxing Combos: He’s got decent hands too, sets up that kick well. So, I practiced some basic combos. Jab, cross, hook. Tried adding a body shot in there, then maybe finishing with the left kick. Putting it together is tough. My coordination felt off. Landed a few okay ones on the bag, but nothing like the power he generates.
  • Body Shots: Focused a bit just on digging into the body. Used both hooks and straights. Trying to put some weight behind them. The bag doesn’t complain, which is good, because I’m sure my form wasn’t perfect.

It’s funny, you drill this stuff, and sometimes you feel like you’re getting somewhere, other times it feels like you’re going backwards. Today was kind of in between. There were moments I felt the connection, the power transfer, just for a split second. Then the next five attempts would be rubbish. It’s like learning anything I guess, lots of messing up.

Hitting the Pads (Sort Of)

Didn’t have a partner today, so the heavy bag was my main training tool. Imagined it was pads, tried to work on speed and reaction a bit more. Moving around, throwing quick combos, then the big left kick. Trying to keep the intensity up. Got pretty tired, gotta admit. My lungs were burning after a few rounds of trying to keep a high pace. He makes it look effortless, but the gas tank required is huge.

Finished off with some lighter shadow boxing, just focusing on movement and breathing. Trying to cool down properly. Stretched a bit afterwards, feeling the muscles complaining. Definitely worked them today.

So yeah, that was my Saemapetch-inspired session. Am I gonna be fighting like him tomorrow? Absolutely not. It’s a grind. But it’s good to have someone like that to look up to, gives you something to aim for, even if you fall way short. Just gotta keep showing up and putting the work in, right? That’s the main thing.
