Okay, so today I was checking out the weigh-in for Claressa Shields’ upcoming fight. This woman is a beast in the boxing ring, and now she’s stepping into the PFL to shake things up. I’ve been following her career for a while, and it’s always exciting to see what she’ll do next.
First off, I jumped online to see what the buzz was about. Found out she’s fighting Vanessa LePage-Joanisse. Shields hit the scales at 174.8 pounds, and LePage-Joanisse came in at 174.6 pounds. Pretty much neck and neck. That’s not surprising, since I saw somewhere she was expected to weigh around 175. That’s about right for her, given she’s 5-foot-8.
Getting Ready for the Fight
- Looked up the fight details: It’s going down at the O2 Arena in London. Can you imagine the energy there? I wish I could be there in person!
- Watched some pre-fight interviews: Shields is all confidence, as always. She’s got that fire in her eyes, ready to take on anyone. There was this one interview where she was talking about her strategy, but I won’t bore you with the details. Basically, she’s ready to brawl.
- Checked out some of Shields’ past fights: I watched some highlights of her fights with Perkins and Marshall. She’s got some serious power and speed. That fight with Marshall had people talking for weeks, it was so intense!
After getting hyped up watching all that, I decided to dig a little deeper into the fight itself. Turns out, this fight is kind of a big deal. The Shields vs. Marshall fight pulled in like 74 million viewers worldwide! That’s insane. This fight with LePage-Joanisse could be just as big. It’s supposed to be the most-watched women’s sporting event ever.
I was curious about how to watch it live. I saw something about DAZN having the rights to stream it. I might have to sign up for that because I definitely don’t want to miss this one. Or maybe I’ll just wait for the highlights, I’m not sure yet.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of Claressa Shields’ weigh-in and her upcoming fight. She’s a true icon in women’s boxing, and it’s awesome to see her pushing boundaries and trying new things. I’m definitely rooting for her, and I can’t wait to see how this fight turns out!
