Want to Find Thoroughbred Racing Records? Easy Guide to Horse Racings Biggest Wins!

Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with “thoroughbred racing records”:

Want to Find Thoroughbred Racing Records? Easy Guide to Horse Racings Biggest Wins!

So, I’ve been diving deep into this whole thoroughbred racing records thing. It started pretty casually, you know? I was just curious about, like, which horses were the fastest, the big winners, that sort of stuff. It was a simple curiousity, and I started with just basic searching of the web.

Digging into the Data

First I just googled things like “fastest thoroughbred race times.” I found some interesting stuff, lists of famous horses and some of their records. But it was all pretty surface-level. Nothing too detailed.

Then I realized I needed to be more specific. I started looking for records broken down by things like:

  • Track distance
  • Track surface (dirt, turf, etc.)
  • Age of the horse
  • Even the year the record was set!

It got complicated fast! There are so many different races, so many different tracks, and everything’s been recorded for, like, ever. I felt a little overwhelmed, to be honest.

I spent hours going down rabbit holes. I’d find one record, then try to find out everything about that horse, that race, the track… It was a lot. I’d start in the morning, and next thing I knew, it was dark outside. My wife was like, “What are you even doing?”

Organizing the Mess

I decided I needed a better way to keep track of everything. I started a simple spreadsheet. Just columns for the horse’s name, the race, the date, the time, and the track. Seemed easy enough.

But then I realized I needed more! I added columns for the track surface, the distance, notes about the weather (was it muddy? windy?), and anything else that seemed important. My simple spreadsheet was getting pretty big.

The End Result (For Now!)

I’ve got a pretty decent collection of records now. It’s not perfect, it’s definitely not complete, but it’s a lot more than I started with. I can actually compare different horses and races in a meaningful way.

Honestly, it’s still a work in progress. I keep finding new stuff, new records, new details. It’s like a never-ending puzzle. But it’s a fun puzzle! I’m learning a ton, and I’m actually getting pretty good at spotting patterns and understanding what makes a winning horse.I will continue the collection in my spare time.

So, that’s where I’m at with my thoroughbred racing records project. Maybe I am a little obsessed, but it is a very fun project.
