Alright, so today I’m gonna share my little adventure of getting a shiny Jangmo-o in Pokemon GO. It was a bit of a hustle, I gotta say. I started out hearing that this shiny little guy was gonna be available during the GO Fest Global 2024 event, but only at certain times on Day 1. That kinda bummed me out because I couldn’t play all day.

I did some digging and found out that there was also this Noxious Swamp event going on. It sounded promising because it mentioned something about guaranteed Jangmo-o encounters and some shiny spawns. So, I jumped into the game, fingers crossed.
At first, I was just running around, trying to catch everything that popped up. No shiny Jangmo-o. I remembered reading somewhere that finding this Pokemon requires “a blend of strategy and patience”. I didn’t even know what that meant, strategy in Pokemon GO? But okay, I decided to be more “strategic”. I focused on the event tasks, hoping that would lead me to this elusive shiny dragon.
I also heard that when shiny Jangmo-o first came out, it wasn’t available in the wild and you could only get it from eggs. What a bummer that would have been if it was still like that! Luckily, that wasn’t the case anymore, but it made me realize how these events can change things up.
- Kept an eye on the event schedule – gotta know when those Jangmo-o are popping up.
- Participated in the Noxious Swamp event – that seemed like the best bet.
- Completed as many event tasks as possible – more tasks, more chances, right?
- Walked around a lot – gotta hatch those eggs and encounter those wild Pokemon.
- Stayed patient – this was the hardest part, to be honest.
My Steps to Success (well, eventually)
After a good chunk of time, and I mean a good chunk, I finally encountered a shiny Jangmo-o! It was a great feeling, seeing those different colors pop up on my screen. It definitely took some effort and a lot of walking, but it was worth it in the end. I guess they were right about the strategy, patience, and blend stuff.
So, that’s my story of how I snagged a shiny Jangmo-o. It wasn’t easy, but it was a fun little challenge. If you’re trying to get one too, just remember to keep at it and take advantage of those events. You’ll get it eventually. Just be sure to prepare for a lot of walking!
