Okay, so I was trying to figure out how many people actually voted in South Carolina. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be!

First, I hit up Google. You know, the usual “how many people voted in South Carolina” search. I got a bunch of news articles, but they were all talking about different elections – primaries, general elections, past elections… it was a mess!
Then, I dug around on the South Carolina Election Commission website. I figured that would be the official source, right? Well, it was… sort of. I found a section with election results, but it was kind of overwhelming. There were so many different reports and data files, I wasn’t even sure where to start.
I spent some time clicking around, trying to find a simple total number. I saw numbers for specific counties, specific elections, but nothing that just gave me the overall total I was looking for. Honestly, it felt like I was going in circles.
I will share it next time.
