So, the other day I was trying to figure out how to get a day pass for the bus system here, called AMA. I’d heard about it but never actually tried to get one myself. It sounded pretty straightforward, but you know how these things can be sometimes.
First, I looked up on their website. I scrolled through a bunch of pages, reading about different fare options and stuff, but I couldn’t find any super clear instructions on how to actually get a day pass. There was some info, just not all in one place, you know?
Next, I decided to try calling their customer service line. I dialed the number, listened to the automated menu for a bit. Finally, I selected the option for “fares and passes”.
I waited on hold for, like, 10 minutes. Seriously, the hold music was driving me nuts!
Eventaully,I gave up the calling and found a ticket machine near the bus stop.
I went to the machine and, thankfully, it was pretty easy to use. It had a big touchscreen with clear options. I just tapped “Day Pass,” followed the prompts to select the type of pass I needed, and then inserted my credit card. Boom, it printed out my pass, and I was good to go!
So, lesson learned: sometimes the easiest way to figure something out is just to go to the source. The ticket machine was way easier than trying to navigate the website or wait on hold forever. If you’re ever trying to get an AMA day pass, skip the phone and the website, and just head straight to a machine!
