Okay, so the other day, I was messing around and decided to work on my arm strength, inspired by that Tommy DeVito guy from the Giants. You know, I saw some stuff online about him, and it got me thinking, “Why not give it a shot?”

I started off pretty basic. I grabbed some weights—nothing too crazy, just some dumbbells I had lying around. First thing I did was some simple bicep curls. I did a few sets of those, just trying to get a feel for it. Then, I moved on to some shoulder presses. Pushing those weights up, I could feel the burn, but it was a good kind of burn, you know?

After that, I tried something a little different. I remembered reading something about DeVito’s time in college, so I figured I’d try some football throws. I don’t have a football, so I just used a basketball. I started throwing it against a wall, focusing on my form and trying to put some power behind each throw. It felt kind of weird at first, using muscles I don’t normally use, but it was fun.

  • Bicep curls: Did a few sets, just to warm up.
  • Shoulder presses: Pushed the weights up, feeling that good burn.
  • Basketball throws: Tried throwing a basketball like a football, focusing on power and form.

I kept at it for a while, switching between the weight exercises and the throwing. I even tried doing some push-ups in between to work on my chest and triceps. It was a pretty intense workout, but I pushed through.

Results

By the end of it, I was pretty tired, but I felt good. My arms were definitely feeling it, but it was satisfying. It’s too early to say if I’ve got an arm like DeVito now, but I definitely felt stronger. It’s not like I suddenly turned into some elite quarterback, but I could feel a difference. It’s like when you haven’t worked out in a while, and then you do, and you can feel those muscles waking up. That’s what it felt like.

I’m thinking of making this a regular thing. Maybe not every day, but a few times a week. It’s a fun way to work out, and it’s cool to see if I can actually improve my arm strength. Plus, it’s kind of interesting to try and follow in the footsteps of a pro athlete, even if it’s just in a small way. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be throwing spirals like a pro. Or maybe not, but it’s fun to try, right?
