My Grind for the 10-Second Boss Kill
Alright, so I gotta share this little adventure I went on recently. Saw some chatter online, folks bragging about taking down the ‘Guardian Prime’ boss – yeah, ol’ GP – in like, ten seconds flat. Sounded nuts. My best runs were usually scraping by at maybe 30 seconds, maybe a bit less if I got lucky with crits.

First, I just kinda laughed it off. Ten seconds? No way. But then it started nagging at me. Could I actually do it? Seemed like a proper challenge, you know? Something to really sink my teeth into. So, I decided, screw it, let’s give this a real shot.
Getting Ready for the Blitz
This wasn’t gonna happen with my usual lazy setup. Nah, this needed some serious prep work. Spent a good few evenings just grinding for specific gear pieces. Needed max damage output, everything else be damned. Survivability? Who needs it if the boss is dead in 10 seconds? That was the thinking anyway.
My checklist looked something like this:
- Farm the ‘Fury Injector’ trinket. Took ages, drop rate was awful.
- Respec all my talent points into pure glass cannon stuff.
- Craft a boatload of the strongest potions and flasks. My gold took a hit, lemme tell ya.
- Practice the opener rotation. Like, obsessively. Muscle memory needed to be perfect. Had to hit every skill exactly right, no fumbles.
Honestly, the prep felt like half the battle. Just getting everything lined up perfectly took patience. Lots of it.
The Attempts… So Many Attempts
Okay, geared up, potions ready, rotation memorized. Time for the real deal. Went into the boss arena feeling pretty pumped. First attempt? Total disaster. Fumbled the opener, missed a potion timing. Boss probably lasted a whole minute. Felt like an idiot.

Second try, better. Got the rotation smooth, damage was way up. Clocked in around 18 seconds. Getting closer! But still miles off 10 seconds. Third try, fourth, fifth… I lost count. Some runs I’d die instantly ’cause my defenses were paper-thin. Other times, just bad luck with damage rolls. It was frustrating, man. Real frustrating. Started thinking maybe those online folks were pulling my leg.
Took a break. Grabbed a coffee. Came back with a clearer head. Watched my own recordings, saw where I was losing milliseconds. Tweaked the skill order just a tiny bit. Decided to pop my biggest cooldown right before pulling, instead of a second after.
Nailed It! The 10-Second Meltdown
Went back in. Deep breath. Pulled the boss. Everything just… clicked. The rotation flowed like water. Every crit seemed to land. Potion timing was spot on. The boss’s health bar just evaporated. I was barely watching the timer, just focused on hitting the buttons right.
Then, boom. Boss down. Silence. Looked at the timer overlay. 9.8 seconds.
YES! I actually jumped out of my chair. Scared the cat, haha. It felt amazing. All that grinding, frustration, practicing – it actually paid off. Just pure satisfaction, seeing that sub-10 second time pop up.

So yeah, that was my journey to the ‘boss gp 10s’. Took way more effort than I thought it would for just a few seconds of glory, but hey, it was worth it. Proved to myself I could do it. Now… what’s the next crazy challenge?
