So, today I wanna talk about this guy, Jason McGuire. I got interested in him because I was watching this old show, “Dark Shadows”, and his name kept popping up. He’s one of those characters that you just know is gonna be trouble.

First, I started digging around to find out who this Jason McGuire guy really was. Turns out, he was born way back in 1918. That’s like, ancient history! He’s from an Irish family, and from what I gathered, he wasn’t exactly a saint. Then, it looked like he disappeared for a while, but then, boom, he was back in this town called Collinsport in 1967. And guess what? He was broke. Classic, right?
Next, I tried to figure out what he was up to in Collinsport. He started hanging around this place called the “Collins family mausoleum”. I read that there was some treasure involved, or something like that, and some guy named Willie Loomis got mixed up in it too. It’s like, these people and their hidden treasures! I couldn’t find much, but I figured there had to be some drama going on there.
Then, I looked into this whole “Argonauts” thing because I saw a mention of it. Apparently, in some old Greek stories, there was another Jason who was the leader of the Argonauts. This Jason had some family drama too, with an uncle who stole the throne from his dad. I thought, “Wow, Jasons and their family issues!”
After that, I kind of went down a rabbit hole. I was thinking, “Is this Jason McGuire guy based on anyone in real life?” I stumbled upon something about a movie and a book, and someone said there was a character who might be based on the actor Tobey Maguire. You know, the one who played Spider-Man. And this character was apparently good at poker. So, I thought, “Hmm, interesting connection,” but it probably had nothing to do with the Jason McGuire I was researching.
I also found out about a jockey named Jason Maguire. He won some big race in 2011. I watched a few clips, and it looked pretty intense. But again, probably not the same guy. I mean, a horse racer and a shady character from an old TV show? Unlikely.

Finally, I went back to the “Dark Shadows” show and tried to find some specific episodes where Jason McGuire showed up. I made a list, but it was a long one! He was in episodes like 193, 195, all the way to 275. That’s a lot! I started watching a few, and man, this guy was always scheming. There were a few quotes that stuck out, like where he said, “Now you made one beautiful blunder by getting involved in that fight,” and, “One more blunder like that and you’ll blow the whole deal.” Sounds like a real charmer, doesn’t he?
So, that’s where I am with this Jason McGuire thing. It’s been a wild ride, jumping from old TV shows to Greek myths to real-life people. I still have a lot of questions, but it’s been fun putting the pieces together.
