Steve Marks Jr: Why is Everyone Talking About Him Right Now?

Okay, so today I wanna talk about this guy, Steve Marks Jr. Now, I didn’t know anything about this person before, but the name got me thinking about Steve Jobs, you know, the Apple guy. I mean, who hasn’t heard of him? Started Apple in ’76 with his buddy, Steve Wozniak, and totally changed the game with all those cool gadgets they came up with.

So, I got to wondering, could I maybe learn a thing or two from how Steve Jobs did his thing? I started digging around. Turns out, the way he sold stuff wasn’t about all the technical details. No talk about megahertz or whatever. It’s more about showing people what they need, even if they don’t know it yet.

I thought, “Hey, maybe I can use this for my own stuff.” I started trying to apply his idea of not focusing on the techy mumbo-jumbo, but on what people actually want.

So, I started to apply the principles, and this is my journey.

First Try

My first go at it was a total mess. I tried to explain what I was doing, what my goal was, but I ended up sounding like a robot. It was all “objectives” and “key results” and other buzzwords. No one got it, and honestly, I barely understood it myself.

Second Try – Getting Warmer

I took a step back and watched that movie about Steve Jobs, the one based on that big biography. And I realized I was trying too hard. I needed to loosen up and just talk like a normal person. So, I tried again. This time, I just explained what I was trying to do in plain English. No fancy words, just straight talk. And you know what? People started to listen. They actually seemed interested!

Third Time’s the Charm?

I kept at it, practicing and tweaking my approach. I even started using it in everyday conversations, like when I was trying to convince my buddies to try a new restaurant. Instead of rambling about the fancy ingredients or the chef’s awards, I just told them about the awesome atmosphere and the food that made my mouth water.

  • Started with a messy, overly complicated approach.
  • Watched a movie about Steve Jobs and realized I needed to simplify.
  • Started talking like a normal human being.
  • Practiced this new way of communicating in everyday life.
  • Started seeing results – people were actually listening!

It’s still a work in progress, but I’m definitely seeing a difference. People are more engaged when I talk to them, and I feel like I’m actually connecting with them on a human level. It’s not about being a slick salesperson, it’s about being real and showing people why they should care. And that’s what I learned from thinking about Steve Marks Jr. and his possible connection to the famous Steve Jobs. Funny how a name can get you thinking, huh?
