Star the Horse Facts: Everything You Need to Know

So I saw this thing called “Star the Horse” pop up on my feed, and I was like, “What’s this all about?” It looked kinda interesting, so I decided to give it a shot. I mean, why not, right?

Star the Horse Facts: Everything You Need to Know

First Steps

First, I gotta find out the project, and it’s on GitHub. I found the project and looked at the page. There was a big green button that said ‘Code’, so I clicked it.

Getting My Hands Dirty

I forked the repository to my own GitHub account. Then, I cloned the forked repository to my computer. Use that command in my terminal. Easy peasy.

The Actual Starring

Okay, time for the main event. Once everything was set up, I went back to the original project on GitHub. up top, and BAM! I clicked it. You’ll see the number of stars change – that means you did it!

Checking My Work

  • I went back to my GitHub profile.
  • Checked my activity feed.

Yep, there it was! Proof that I starred the project. I guess it’s like giving the creators a virtual high-five.

I also checked my list of starred repositories. The project should be on that list, I clicked on ‘stars’ on my profile and made sure the project was there.

Wrap Up

All in all, it’s a super simple thing to do. It took all, like, 5 minutes, it is very quick. It’s a cool way to show a little support for the developers. Maybe I’ll even check out the project itself later, it does look pretty interesting.
