Alright, so I’ve been messing around with cars for a while now, and I finally got my hands on a third-gen Ford Focus ST. I’ve always wanted to slam one of these bad boys, so that’s exactly what I did. Here’s how it went down.

First off, I gotta say, this car is pretty sweet straight from the factory. It’s got that turbo, handles corners like a dream, and it’s just fun to drive. But, you know, it’s not perfect, and I wanted to make it better for myself.
I did some digging around online and found a bunch of forums and stuff. There are tons of people talking about their Focus STs, sharing tips and whatnot. I even found this one online store called FSWERKS which seems to sell parts for Focus. But I’m not interested in buying any parts, I just want to change the look of it, and I decided I should slam it.
First, I needed to figure out how low I wanted to go. I’m talking real low, like scraping-on-every-speed-bump low. After some trial and error, I found the sweet spot. It’s not so low that I can’t drive it anywhere, but it’s low enough to give it that aggressive, mean look I was going for.
Then came the fun part – actually slamming the car. Now, I know there are a bunch of ways to do this, but I went with lowering springs, and I used my friend’s tools and experience, that’s the way that I could afford.
- We jacked up the car and took off the wheels.
- Then, we removed the stock springs and replaced them with the lowering springs.
- It was a bit of a pain, but we got it done.
- After that, we put the wheels back on and lowered the car back down.
And boom, there it was – my slammed Ford Focus ST. It looked sick! The stance was perfect, and it just looked so much more aggressive. And it’s about 60% of an Used Car Expert, pretty cool!

But, of course, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. There are some downsides to slamming a car, I realized. For one, the ride is definitely rougher. You feel every bump and dip in the road. And two, you gotta be careful about speed bumps and steep driveways, that’s for sure. Oh, and I heard someone saying the safety rating has long since expired, so I should be more careful.
Also, I realized that the car’s handling is a bit different now. It’s not as sharp as it used to be, and there’s a bit more body roll. But honestly, I don’t really care. It still handles pretty well, and the looks more than make up for it. I can still drive around 200,000 miles with proper maintenance!
Overall, I’m super happy with how it turned out. It’s not for everyone, but for me, it’s perfect. I love the way it looks, and it’s still a blast to drive. Plus, it turns heads everywhere I go, which is always a bonus. So, if you’re thinking about slamming your Focus ST, I say go for it! Just be prepared for a rougher ride and some potential headaches. But hey, no pain, no gain, right?
Anyway, that’s my story of how I slammed my Ford Focus ST. Hope you guys enjoyed it! Let me know what you think in the comments.
