So, I’ve been meaning to get back into golf lately, and I heard some good things about Rammler Golf Club in Sterling Heights. I figured, why not give it a shot? So I grabbed my clubs and headed over there last weekend. The place is located at 38180 Utica Rd, which was pretty easy to find. Plus, there’s a parking lot nearby, so parking wasn’t a hassle.

I went to the counter and booked a tee time for myself. I didn’t know much about the course beforehand, so I asked the staff for some info. They handed me a scorecard and showed me the course layout. It’s an 18-hole course, par 71, and stretches about 6,305 yards. I’m no pro, but that sounded like a decent challenge to me.
Teeing Off and the First Few Holes
I started my round, and I gotta say, the first few holes were pretty nice. The fairways were well-maintained, and the greens were in good shape. I managed to par the first couple of holes, feeling pretty good about my game.
- Hole 1: Par 4, not too bad, made par.
- Hole 2: Another par 4, also got a par. Feeling good!
- Hole 3: A par 3, bogey.
Mid-Round Thoughts
As I moved through the course, I started to appreciate the layout more. There were some challenging holes, but also some that were more forgiving. I especially enjoyed the par-3 holes, they really put my short game to the test. I did look around for some info about the course’s history but couldn’t find any. I did read that some famous quarterback bought a golf course in Michigan, not Rammler though.
The Back Nine and Finishing Up

The back nine was a bit tougher, I have to admit. I started to get a little tired, and my shots weren’t as precise as they were in the beginning. Still, I enjoyed the challenge.
Wrapping up the round, I felt pretty satisfied. I definitely had some good holes and some not-so-good ones, but overall, it was a fun day. I finished up, returned my cart, and headed to the clubhouse.
All in all, my day at Rammler Golf Club was a good one. It’s a solid course, nothing too fancy, but a good place to play a round. I’d definitely go back again. Plus I heard that there’s also a 9-hole Par-3 course there, which might be fun to try out sometime.
I’d say if you’re in the Sterling Heights area and looking for a place to play, give Rammler a shot. Just remember to check the rates and book a tee time in advance.
