PSG x Girona: Match Highlights, Predictions & Where to Watch!

Alright, so I wanted to mess around with setting up a little football match simulation, “psg x girona”. It wasn’t anything fancy, just a bit of fun to see how I could get things working.

PSG x Girona: Match Highlights, Predictions & Where to Watch!

First, I needed to find some data. I mean, you can’t have a match without knowing who’s playing, right? I spent a bit of time digging around, grabbing player lists, some basic stats – nothing too crazy, just enough to give me a starting point. It was kind of like gathering ingredients before you start cooking.

Getting Started

Then came the fun part, I wanted to play around with these player lists and stats. I played around with a few python libraries.

  • I loaded the data in, getting my hands dirty with the information. It felt like building the teams from scratch.
  • I started to think about how to simulate the match,I made basic scoring for each team to make the simulation more realistic.
  • I started to simulate the match, I ran the script I coded and was very happy with the result.

The Result

Finally, I ran it. Let me tell you, watching those virtual players do their thing, even in a super simplified way, was pretty rewarding. It wasn’t perfect, not even close, but it was my little simulation. I could see the potential, the places where I could tweak things, add more detail, make it more realistic. It’s like the first draft of a story – you know it needs work, but you’re proud you got it down on paper (or, in this case, on the screen).

It was more than good, I was very happy with my work. I think I will try to add more detail on my next project.
