Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with Pokemon games for, like, forever. And there’s this thing called “trade evolution” that’s always been a bit of a pain but also kinda cool. Basically, it’s when you gotta trade certain Pokemon with someone else to make them evolve. Yeah, you heard that right, you can’t just level them up the usual way.

So, I started digging into this whole trade evolution thing. Turns out, it’s been around since the very first Pokemon games. I remember back in the day, you needed a link cable to connect two Game Boys together. Now, it’s all online, which makes things a little easier, I guess.
I decided to make a list of all the Pokemon that need trading to evolve. It’s a pretty hefty list, and some of them have extra rules, like holding a specific item during the trade.
- First, I grabbed my own copy of the game and started catching ’em all.
- Then, I went online to find someone to trade with.
- We connected our games, and boom! Started trading those little monsters.
I started with the classics, like Kadabra, Machoke, and Haunter. You trade them, and they instantly evolve into Alakazam, Machamp, and Gengar. It’s pretty wild to see it happen right before your eyes.
One time I tried it with a Machoke, traded it with some random dude online, and bam! It turned into a Machamp right after the trade.
It’s important to note that you shouldn’t try to evolve them by using stones, it only works by trading them!

It’s a whole different way of evolving Pokemon, and it definitely adds a social aspect to the game. It’s a bit of a hassle sometimes, having to find someone to trade with, but it is kinda rewarding when you finally get that evolved form. Anyway, that’s my little adventure with trade evolutions in Pokemon. It’s been a journey, for sure!
