Pistons First Round Picks: Expert Predictions and Draft Analysis.

Alright, so I wanted to dig into the Pistons’ first-round draft picks. I’ve always been a bit of a stats nerd, and with the draft coming up, I figured it was time to get my hands dirty and see what I could find.

Pistons First Round Picks: Expert Predictions and Draft Analysis.

First, I started by just Googling “Pistons first round picks history.” You know, the basic stuff. That gave me a bunch of websites listing all the picks, year by year. It was a good starting point, but honestly, it was just a wall of names and years. Not super helpful by itself.

So, I decided I needed to organize this mess. I opened up a new spreadsheet – good old Google Sheets, nothing fancy. I created columns for the year, the pick number, the player’s name, and the college or team they came from.

Then came the tedious part: I went through each of those websites and manually copied the information into my spreadsheet. It took a while, I’m not gonna lie. Lots of tabbing back and forth, making sure I didn’t mess up the rows. My fingers got a good workout, that’s for sure.

Once I had all the data in there, I started playing around with it. I sorted it by year, then by pick number. I even added a column to note any major achievements, like if a player made the All-Star team or won Rookie of the Year. Just some quick notes to give me some context.

I also quickly noted the years of picks. That’s help me see the historical picture, and that it!

It’s still a work in progress, and it might look not very professional, but it’s way more useful than those random websites I started with. I can actually see the trends and get a feel for the Pistons’ drafting history.
