Need MD eclipse times? Heres when does the eclipse start in Maryland.

Alright, so everyone started buzzing about this big eclipse, you know? Naturally, I got curious about when we’d actually get to see it here in Maryland. Couldn’t just miss out, so I decided I needed to figure out the timing.

Need MD eclipse times? Heres when does the eclipse start in Maryland.

First thing I did was just hop onto my computer and do a quick search. Typed in something like “when does eclipse start maryland”. Got a whole bunch of results, as you’d expect. Some sites gave times, but they seemed a bit general, maybe for the whole state or something? It wasn’t super clear.

Then it hit me – Maryland’s not exactly a tiny dot on the map. The time it starts way out west in Garrett County is probably gonna be a bit different than down by the coast in Ocean City. So, a general time wasn’t really going to cut it for me. I needed something more local.

I dug a little deeper. I looked for tools or sites where you could put in your actual town or zip code. Seemed like the best bet to get something accurate for my neck of the woods. I live closer to the central part of the state, so I plugged in my local info.

Finding the Local Timings

After putting in my location, things got much clearer. It takes a bit of sifting through, but I finally landed on the specifics for my area. Here’s what I jotted down:

  • The eclipse was supposed to start making its appearance, just beginning to cover the sun, around 2:05 PM give or take a minute.
  • Then the peak time, when the absolute most sun would be covered for us here (remember, Maryland wasn’t in the total eclipse path, just partial), was going to be around 3:21 PM.
  • And then the whole thing would wrap up, with the moon moving completely past the sun, by about 4:33 PM.

So, that gave me a good window of time in the afternoon to try and catch it. It wasn’t a total blackout for us, more like a big bite taken out of the sun, but still pretty cool to know exactly when to look up (with the right glasses, of course!). That was my little mission – find the times, and I got ’em. Now the next step was finding those special eclipse glasses everyone was talking about.
