Need lion soccer team logo ideas? Check out these awesome examples for inspiration.

Alright, so the other day, I got this idea buzzing in my head – needed a logo for a soccer team, a lion theme. Seemed cool, right? Lions are strong, kings of the jungle, all that stuff. Perfect for a sports team vibe.

First thing I did was just grab a pencil and paper. Didn’t even think too hard, just started scribbling lions. Some looked angry, some kinda regal. Also sketched some soccer balls, shields, basic shapes to see what might fit.

I kinda leaned towards a more powerful-looking lion, not cartoony, but not super realistic either. Something that looked like it meant business on the field. Spent a fair bit of time just trying to get the mane and the face right. You know how it is, sometimes you draw something a dozen times before it clicks.

Once I had a rough sketch I liked, I scanned it onto my computer. Just makes it easier to clean up, you know? Played around with the lines, made them smoother. Tried different poses for the lion, head-on, side profile. Settled on a strong-looking head, maybe slightly roaring.

Then I thought, okay, it needs something soccer. Obvious choice is a ball. Tried putting it under the chin, behind the head… eventually tucked it sorta beside the mane. Looked balanced. I also liked the idea of a shield shape behind it, gives it that classic crest feel. Kept the shield simple, nothing too fancy.

Picking the Colors

Colors were next. This part always trips me up a bit. Tried a few combos.

  • Gold and black? Classic, strong.
  • Maybe some red for passion?
  • Blue felt a bit off for a lion, personally.

Ended up going with a strong gold for the lion and shield outline, with black for details and maybe some deep red accents. Felt powerful and matched the lion theme.

Spent some more time tweaking tiny details, adjusting line weights, making sure the colors popped but weren’t too distracting. Moved the ball slightly, resized the shield a touch. You fiddle with it until it just feels right. It’s not always a science, more like a feeling.

And that was pretty much it! Got the lion head looking fierce, tucked in the soccer ball, framed it with a simple shield, and locked in those strong colors. Took a bit of back and forth, lots of erasing and undoing, but got there in the end. Pretty happy with how this lion soccer logo turned out. Just a simple badge, but feels right for a team.
