Moon and Stars by Le Smith: Is It Worth the Money?

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Le Smith Moon and Stars” thing pop up all over my Pinterest, and I just had to give it a try. It looked so magical and dreamy, perfect for, you know, adding a little sparkle to my apartment.

Getting Started

>

First things first, I needed to gather my supplies. I’m a pretty crafty person, so I already had a bunch of stuff lying around. Here’s what I ended up using:

  • Embroidery hoop: I used a wooden one. It makes the project look nice and simple, I think.
  • Dark blue fabric: I dig that midnight blue fabric color.
  • Embroidery floss: I went with gold, silver, and a little bit of white for some extra twinkle.
  • Needle: I use a normal size.
  • Scissors: Of course!
  • Pencil or chalk: For tracing, I used what I have on the desk.
  • Pattern(optional): It’s optional. I just sketched something out, but you could totally find a template online if you’re not feeling super confident.

The Process

I stretched the fabric super tight in the hoop. I tried to make sure it was nice and smooth. No wrinkles!

Then, I used a simple pencil to draw a crescent moon and a sprinkle of stars on the fabric. Nothing fancy, just a basic shape. I eyeballed it, so it’s not perfect, but that’s part of the charm, right?

Time for the fun part: the stitching! I started with the moon, using the gold floss. I did a simple backstitch, and tried to make the lines as clean as I could. Then fill the moon shape with stitches, and it takes a bit of time, but it’s actually pretty relaxing.

Next up, the stars! I used silver floss for most of them, and then added a few tiny white ones for some extra sparkle. For the stars, I mostly did little crosses or just single stitches. Super simple, but effective.

And Cut off any loose threads and make sure everything looks neat.

The Result

Honestly, I’m pretty thrilled with how it turned out! It’s hanging on my wall now, and it adds such a nice, celestial touch to my room. It’s not perfect, but I made it, and that’s what matters. Plus, it was a super fun and relaxing project to work on.

If you’re looking for a simple and pretty craft project, I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s easy to customize, and you can really make it your own. Happy stitching!
