Hey everyone, today I wanna talk about my experience with the Ducati Monster 1200. I’ve always been a huge fan of naked bikes, and the Monster 1200 has been on my radar for a while. So, I finally decided to get one.

First off, I started doing some research. I read a bunch of reviews and watched a lot of videos online. Most of them were pretty positive, talking about how it’s a great bike but maybe not as exciting as some of its competitors. It’s not the most powerful or the lightest naked bike, but I saw a lot of folks saying that this Ducati is super classy and has a long history of being one of the most desirable bikes.
After all that, I went ahead and bought a used Monster 1200 S. I was initially looking at some newer models but saw someone mention that it might not be worth the extra cash over a standard Monster 937. Still, the 1200 S felt pretty special, so I went for it.
When I finally got the bike, I just took it out for a ride. The engine, man, it’s an 1198cc Testastretta II. I read that the pistons in the R version are different, and the throttle bodies are wider, but honestly, I don’t know much about that stuff. All I know is that it felt really good. The power delivery is super smooth. They say it has around 135 to 145 bhp, but it felt plenty quick to me. It was no “big, dumb brute of a bike,” that’s for sure.
I rode it around town, took it on the highway, and even hit some twisty roads. It handled everything like a champ. It’s not as crazy as some of those super-naked bikes like the Tuono V4 R or Super Duke R, but it was still a blast to ride. Smooth, comfortable, and just a ton of fun.
One thing I really appreciated was how well it handled at all speeds. I’ve ridden some bikes that feel a little twitchy at low speeds or get a bit unstable at high speeds, but the Monster 1200 felt solid no matter what. They say it’s got “full, fluid power delivery at all speeds,” and I gotta agree.

I kept riding it for a few weeks, and the more I rode it, the more I liked it. I took it on longer trips, commuted with it, and just generally used it as my daily ride. It never let me down. I even got a few compliments on it, which was pretty cool. It is indeed one classy-looking bike.
So, after all that, I decided to keep the Monster 1200 S. It’s just a fantastic all-around bike. It’s fun, it’s comfortable, it looks great, and it’s got that classic Ducati feel. Some might say it’s a bit restrained compared to other super-nakeds, but I think it’s just right.

To sum it up:
If you’re looking for a naked bike that’s got a bit of everything, I highly recommend checking out the Ducati Monster 1200. It might not be the craziest or most powerful bike out there, but it’s a solid, fun, and stylish ride that’s sure to put a smile on your face.
