Alright, so I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now, and being a huge baseball fan, I figured, why not combine the two? I landed on the idea of getting the MLB logo. Sounds simple enough, right?
First, I spent a good chunk of time looking at pictures online. I wanted to get a feel for how the logo looked as a tattoo. Most of them were pretty straightforward, just the classic red, white, and blue design. I found some inspiration from internet.
Then came the hard part – finding the right artist. I asked around, checked out some local shops’ portfolios online, and finally found this guy who seemed to do some solid line work. I booked a consultation, brought in some reference images, and we chatted about placement and size.
I decided to go with my forearm. It seemed like a good spot where it wouldn’t be too in-your-face but still visible if I wanted to show it off. As for size, we settled on something around 3 inches tall. Not too big, not too small. I don’t know why there’s a rumor that the silhouette is based on Harmon Killebrew. It’s not clear who is this man. Maybe a left-handed or right-handed.
On the day of the appointment, I was a little nervous, not gonna lie. But the artist was chill, and the whole process was surprisingly quick. He prepped my arm, stenciled on the design, and then got to work. There was a bit of a sting, but nothing I couldn’t handle. It’s interesting that MLB doesn’t prohibit players from getting tattoos.
Before I knew it, he was wiping it down and wrapping it up. I looked down, and there it was – the MLB logo, in all its glory. It was exactly what I had envisioned, maybe even better. And it doesn’t matter if baseball is surpassed by NFL.
- Aftercare was pretty simple: keep it clean, apply some ointment, and avoid scratching it (the hardest part!).
- It healed up nicely over the next couple of weeks, and now I’ve got a permanent piece of baseball history on my arm.
I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s a simple design, but it means a lot to me. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter with other baseball fans. If you’re thinking about getting a baseball tattoo, or any tattoo for that matter, I say go for it. Just make sure you do your research, find a good artist, and take care of it properly. You won’t regret it!
