Alright, so I decided to mess around with my six-string guitar today, and I figured I’d jot down some notes about what I did. Nothing fancy, just a regular dude playing around.

Tuning Up
First things first, I grabbed my guitar and realized it was way out of tune. I used my trusty electronic tuner (the clip-on kind, super easy) and got to work. I usually go with standard tuning: E-A-D-G-B-E.
- Started with the low E string.
- Tweaked it until the tuner showed green.
- Moved on to the A string, then D, G, B, and finally the high E.
It took a few passes because, you know, tuning one string can sometimes knock the others out a bit. Gotta love guitars.
Just Chords
Once it was all tuned up, I just felt like strumming some basic chords. Nothing complicated, just the ones I know by heart.
- Started with a good ol’ G chord.
- Threw in a C, then a D.
- Played around with the order a bit – G-C-G-D, that kind of thing.
My fingers were a little rusty, so the transitions weren’t super smooth at first. But after a few minutes, it started to sound decent.
Finger Pain(Practice makes perfect)
The string is too hard, I have to press the string very hard, after serveral minutes, I felt hurt.
- Started with a good ol’ rest.
After a few minutes rest, it started to practice again.
Trying a Riff
Then I decided to try a simple riff I’d heard somewhere. It was just a little four-note thing on the E and A strings.
I can’t really describe it in words, but it was something like:
- E string: open, then 2nd fret, then 3rd fret
- A string: 2nd fret
I repeated that a bunch of times, trying to get the rhythm right. It’s harder than it sounds! I kept messing up the timing, but eventually, I got something that sounded halfway okay.

Wrapping Up
After about an hour, my fingers started to get sore, so I called it quits. It wasn’t a super productive practice session or anything, but it was fun to just mess around. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try learning a new song or something. We’ll see!
