Okay, so I saw this “Marvelous Minds Collection Challenge: Evolve” thing pop up in Pokemon Go, and I thought, “Why not?” It seemed like a good way to kill some time and maybe get some cool rewards. I started playing like I always do, catching whatever Pokemon I could find around my neighborhood.

First off, I noticed that catching Pokemon was giving me way more Stardust than usual. That’s pretty sweet, right? More Stardust means I can power up my Pokemon more often. And it wasn’t just Stardust. I was getting more Candy too, especially when I made Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws. The better the throw, the more Candy I got. It made me want to actually pay attention to my throws instead of just chucking the balls randomly. Also, I started getting this thing called Candy XL because I’m over level 31. It’s like super Candy or something, I don’t know, but it sounds good.
The main part of the challenge was evolving Pokemon. Usually, I just evolve them whenever I have enough Candy, but this time I thought I’d try something different. I decided to save up my strongest Pokemon until I reached level 16, as some people on the internet suggested. Then, I used a Lucky Egg, which doubles the XP you get, and evolved as many of them as I could. This was a bit of a grind, but it really boosted my level. Plus, I ended up with some really high CP Pokemon, which is awesome for taking over gyms.
There were also these Field Research Tasks that were part of the event. One task was to catch 10 Psychic- or Fairy-type Pokemon. I found a bunch of Morelull, Gothita, and Spritzee for that one. Another task was to make three Great Curveball Throws in a row, which was a bit tricky, but I managed to get it done and caught some Morelull and Elgyem. The hardest one was making six Great Curveball Throws in a row. I wasted a lot of Pokeballs on that one, but I eventually did it and got some more Morelull and a Solosis.
The evolution part of the challenge was a bit confusing at first. I needed to get a Ralts, Kirlia, and Gardevoir, and also a Solosis, Duosion, and Reuniclus. I already had some of these, but I needed to catch or evolve others. I had a Kirlia that I was planning to evolve into a Gallade, but the challenge specifically wanted a Gardevoir, so I evolved it into that instead. I also hatched some eggs during the event, hoping to get some of the Pokemon I needed, but no luck there.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:

- Caught a bunch of Pokemon to get extra Stardust and Candy.
- Focused on making Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws for more Candy and Candy XL.
- Saved up strong Pokemon and used a Lucky Egg to evolve them for a big XP boost.
- Completed Field Research Tasks like catching specific types of Pokemon and making Great Curveball Throws.
- Evolved a Ralts into Kirlia and then into Gardevoir.
- Caught a Solosis and evolved it into Duosion and then Reuniclus.
In the end, I managed to complete the challenge. It took a while, and I had to change up my usual play style a bit, but it was worth it. I got a Hatenna encounter, a bunch of items, and a good amount of XP. Plus, I ended up with some strong Pokemon that I can use in battles. Overall, it was a fun little event, and I’m glad I decided to participate.
So, did anyone else try this challenge? How did it go for you? Did you get anything cool? Let me know in the comments!
Anyway, that’s it for my Pokemon Go adventure today. I’m gonna go see what other trouble I can get into. Catch you later!
