Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get better at organizing my life, and I thought a visual monthly calendar would be a good start. I’m not super artistic, but I figured I could at least make something functional. Here’s how my “march calendar” project went down.

Brainstorming and Gathering Stuff
First, I grabbed a big piece of paper – just regular printer paper, nothing fancy. Then I dug out some colored markers I had lying around. I also found a ruler, which I knew would be essential for making straight lines. I mean, who can draw a straight line freehand, am I right?
The Grid Struggle
This was the hardest part. I started by lightly penciling in lines for the days of the week across the top. Then, I tried to divide the rest of the page into equal-ish squares for the dates. Let me tell you, it took a few tries (and a lot of erasing) to get it looking somewhat decent. My ruler was my best friend during this stage.
- I messed the horizontal lines at first, so the boxes were all different.
- Then drew all lines using pencil.
Adding the Dates and Details
Once I had the basic grid, I went in with a black marker and wrote in the numbers for each day. I also added the names of the days at the top in different colors, just to make it a little more visually appealing. Because even a basic calendar can have a little flair, you know?
Making it My Own
This is where I got to add a bit of my personality, with all color pens. I started filling in important dates – birthdays, appointments, deadlines. I even drew little doodles in some of the squares to represent different events. It’s nothing fancy, but it makes me smile when I look at it.
- Use color pens to mark birthday, appointments, etc.
- Also add some simple drawings.
The Final Result
It’s not perfect, but it’s mine. My “march calendar” is now hanging on my wall, and it’s actually helping me stay on track. I look at it every day, and it reminds me of what I need to do. Plus, I kind of feel proud that I made it myself. It’s a small thing, but it’s a step in the right direction towards being more organized. Maybe I’ll even try to make one for April!
