Okay, so today I decided to dive into something I’ve been curious about for a while – the Fiat Yamaha Team. You know, the one with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo back in the day? I wanted to see if I could recreate some of their iconic liveries in, like, a racing game or something.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed some good reference images. I spent a good chunk of time just Googling “Fiat Yamaha Team,” “Rossi YZR-M1,” “Lorenzo YZR-M1,” and different year models (’07, ’08, ’09, ’10) to get a feel for the different designs they used. I was mostly looking for pictures of their bikes, of course.
Some key things I noted during this initial look-around:
- The main colors are, obviously, blue, white, and yellow. But the shades of blue and the amount of yellow seemed to vary a bit year to year.
- The Fiat logo was super prominent, usually on the sides and sometimes on the front.
- There were other sponsor logos too, like ENEOS and Packard Bell, but their placement changed around a lot.
Finding the Colors
I found the colors that match the team’s bikes, which took a little bit time. Because different screens, different light, picture not accurate… so many troubles.
Time to Get Creative (or Try To)
Then I tried many ways to figure out how to get the perfect design, from game to reality, from painting to stickers… It’s a really long journey!
The Result (So Far)
Finally, I got what I want! I made it!
It’s been a fun little project. It really makes you appreciate the work that goes into designing these liveries, and how much detail there is when you start looking closely.
