Okay, so I’ve been following Man City for a while, and today was a big day, the final game of 2024! I was so pumped to see who Pep would pick for the starting lineup. It’s always a guessing game, right?

I woke up early, made myself a strong cup of coffee, and started checking all my usual sites for any early news. Nothing. Ugh, the suspense was killing me. I decided to distract myself by watching some highlights of past games, you know, to get myself in the zone.
Then, boom! About an hour before kickoff, the lineups were finally released. I quickly scanned the list, my heart racing. Okay, let’s see who we got.
- Goalkeeper: Ederson was in goal. No surprises there, he’s the main man.
- Defense: Looks like Pep went with a back four today. Lewis, Akanji, Ake, and Gvardiol. Solid, I thought. But I was a bit bummed that John Stones wasn’t starting. But, hey, I guess the boss knows best.
- Midfield: We had Silva, Gundogan, and Nunes. A pretty standard formation. I was hoping for maybe a little more spice, but I trust Pep’s judgment.
- Attack: Alright, here’s where it gets interesting. Foden, Haaland, and Grealish up front. This is nice. This trio is capable of creating some real magic.
I saw a few familiar faces on the subs bench too – Walker and Dias. Always good to have some experienced players in reserve.
I was a bit surprised that some of key players were still missing, but I guess that’s just part of the game. Injuries happen, and you gotta roll with the punches. Overall, I was feeling pretty good about the lineup. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but it was a strong team nonetheless. We all know it takes 16 trophies to make a great team. Anyway, I grabbed my City scarf, settled in on the couch, and got ready for the match. It turned out to be a good one, with Haaland scoring twice and City winning 4-1! What a way to end the year!
So, that’s my little story of how I followed the Man City lineup announcement today. It’s always an exciting experience, and I can’t wait to see what the next season brings.
