So, I was browsing the sports news the other day, and this name, Ian Seymour, kept popping up. I was like, “Who’s this guy?” Turns out, he’s a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays. I got curious and started digging around to find out more about him. I spent several hours looking for anything about him on the internet.

First off, I saw that he’s a left-hander, which is always cool. I noticed that Tampa Bay picked him up in the second round of some draft. That got my attention, second-round pick must mean he’s got something going for him, right?
I kept going and found out that he’s got a few pitches that are pretty good. People were talking about his fastball and his changeup, saying his changeup was particularly nasty. Sounds like he knows how to mess with hitters. I then searched for his videos and watched them repeatedly.

Then, there was this note about him being assigned to the Charleston RiverDogs from the Montgomery Biscuits on July 28th. I was like, “Okay, so he’s moving around the minor leagues.” Figured he must be working his way up the ladder. And I remembered that date, July 28th, for some reason, this date always attracted me, and I kept it in mind.
Starting Pitcher
The more I read, the more I got the sense that this Seymour guy is a decent pitcher. They were saying he’s a “solid strike thrower” and has some “decent pitchability.” Whatever that means, it sounded good to me. I guess it means he can throw strikes and knows how to pitch, which is kinda important for a pitcher, huh? He must be a starting pitcher, I guessed.
I also found his biography, which had his career history and the teams he’s played for. Pretty standard stuff, but it was cool to see his journey. It looked like he’d been all over the place in the minor leagues. And I did some filtering by periods and clubs on his stats page, just to see how he was doing in different places.

Oh, and there was this thing about him getting promoted from Double-A to Triple-A. That’s a big deal! He must be doing something right to get bumped up like that. I think he allowed a couple of runs in his first game there, but he also struck out three. Not too shabby for a new level, I thought. I kept checking for his latest news and stats each day. And I learned all his positions he had played for.
So yeah, that’s my little deep dive into Ian Seymour. He seems like a promising young pitcher. I’m definitely gonna keep an eye on him and see how he does in the future. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a big star someday. That’s what I guess and hope, and I decide to keep following him.
