Okay, so today I decided to finally get that Alolan Marowak in Pokemon Go. I’ve wanted one for ages, you know, because it looks so freaking cool with the fire and everything. Plus, it’s a Ghost/Fire type, which is pretty unique.

I started by checking out which raids were happening nearby. I used a couple of those raid-finding apps – super helpful, seriously. After a bit of scrolling, I saw an Alolan Marowak raid pop up about a mile away. Perfect! I grabbed my portable charger (gotta be prepared, right?), and headed out.
When I got to the gym, there were already a few other people waiting. We exchanged that knowing nod that Pokemon Go players do, haha. We all jumped into the lobby, and I made sure to pick my best counters. I went with a team of strong Dark and Water types because I did a little research before.
- My Tyranitar with Bite and Crunch.
- A couple of strong Kyogre with Waterfall and Hydro Pump.
- My trusty Gyarados with Bite and Hydro Pump.
- Some backup Swampert .
The Battle
The battle itself was… intense! That Marowak was putting up a good fight. I made sure to dodge its charged attacks as much as I could – those things hit hard. It was throwing some fire moves, I saw bone club, all that nasty things! We were whittling down its health, and everyone was throwing everything they had at it. Finally, with just a few seconds left on the clock, we took it down!
Then, the nerve-wracking part – the catch screen. I had like 12 Premier Balls, thanks to the damage I did and being on the same team as most of the other players. I used a Golden Razz Berry on the first throw, aimed for a “Great” curveball… and… it broke out. My heart sank a little, not gonna lie.
I kept at it, throwing more Golden Razz Berries and trying to hit those curveballs. It broke out a few more times. I was down to my last few balls, and my anxiety was through the roof. Seriously, my hands were shaking. Then, on my second to last ball, I threw another “Great” curveball… and this time… it stayed in! Three shakes… and… caught!

I actually let out a little cheer. The other players were all congratulating each other – it was a good feeling. I checked its stats, and it wasn’t perfect, but it was still pretty good. And honestly, I was just happy to finally have one. I immediately favorited it, so I wouldn’t accidentally transfer it or anything.
So yeah, that’s my Alolan Marowak story. It took a bit of effort, but it was totally worth it. Now I just need to power it up and maybe use it in some battles. Fun day!
