Okay, so I was all hyped up to play some NBA 2K24 today. I grabbed my controller, got comfy on the couch, and… nothing. I tried to connect, but it kept giving me some error message. Total bummer, right?

My first thought was, “Is it just me?” Maybe my internet was acting up. I checked my connection, restarted my router, the whole nine yards. Still no luck. My internet was working fine for everything else, just not 2K.
Checking the Server Status
So I hit up the internet, to search what was going on. I found the official NBA 2K Game Status page, what I was looking for!
It’s a plain-looking page, but it’s got the goods. It lists all the different game services and whether they’re “Operational” or “Down” for each platform – PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, everything.
And there it was. Several of the services were showing as “Down.” Not just for my platform, but for others too. It confirmed my suspicion: it wasn’t my internet, it was the 2K servers.
All I could do was wait. I refreshed the page a few times, hoping to see things change to “Operational.” It’s kind of annoying, but at least I knew what the problem was. And I guess it gave me an excuse to do something else for a while!

Eventually, I checked back later, and everything was green! Back in action. Finally, time to hit the virtual court.
