I started off trying to figure out what the heck “velo” means in golf. Turns out, it’s just a fancy way of talking about speed. Okay, got it. So, how do I add some zip to my game? First, I grabbed my clubs and headed to the driving range. I started with some basic swings, trying to focus on my form, but I really wanted to see if I could hit it farther. I remembered reading somewhere about keeping your lower body still when you putt. So I tried that, focusing on a smooth stroke.

Next, I tried to pay attention to how far down the fairway my drives were going. I’ve been trying to improve my short game, too. It’s all about getting closer to the hole with fewer strokes. Someone mentioned focusing on chipping and putting, and not taking more than two putts per hole. Sounds easy, right? Easier said than done.
- Warm-up: I did some stretches like that Glass guy suggested. It felt pretty good, and I think it helped loosen me up.
- Drive for show: I tried to smash the ball as hard as I could, just to see what would happen. Some went straight, some… not so much.
- Putt for dough: I spent a good chunk of time practicing my putting. Two putts per hole, max. That’s the goal. It’s tough, but I’m getting better.
- Avoid the traps: I worked on keeping my ball out of the sand and water. One less thing to worry about, you know? It makes a big difference, believe me.
I also tried to think about my target more, instead of just whacking the ball. Someone mentioned nontechnical techniques, which I think just means common sense. I did notice that when I focused on where I wanted the ball to go, it usually ended up closer to that spot.
Putting It All Together
So, after a few sessions, I started to see some improvement. My drives were going a bit farther, and my putting was definitely more consistent. I even managed to shave a few strokes off my score. It’s not a huge difference yet, but it’s progress. I’m going to keep practicing these tips and see how much more I can improve. I think the key is to just keep at it and not get discouraged. Every little bit helps.
And yeah, I am gonna keep work on my short game and putting until I get this right, as I was told this is the most efficient way to lower the score.
Keep practicing, and have some fun with it. This is just my experience, and what works for me might not work for everyone. But hey, it’s worth a shot, right?
