Today, I felt like doing something different, so I decided to try a little experiment with my look. I’ve always been curious about how different makeup styles from various cultures can totally change a person’s vibe. So, I thought, why not try mixing two distinct styles? I went for a “half Indian, half black” look, just to see how it would turn out.

First, I prepped my face. I cleaned it up real good with a cleanser, then slapped on some moisturizer to keep my skin happy. After that, I used a primer to make sure the makeup would stick around all day.
Then came the foundation. I picked two shades that matched each side of my face—one for the Indian look and one for the black look. I applied them carefully, blending them in the middle to make it look smooth. I used a damp sponge to make sure it looked natural, not cakey.
Next up, concealer. I used a lighter shade under my eyes and on any spots that needed extra coverage. I blended that in with the sponge too, making sure it matched the foundation.
Indian Side
- Eyes: I went with a bold, colorful look. I started with a gold eyeshadow all over my lid, then added some deep red in the crease and blended it out. I lined my eyes with a thick kohl liner and added a winged tip for some drama. Finished it off with a few coats of mascara to make my lashes pop.
- Eyebrows: I filled in my brows with a dark brown pencil, making them look full and defined. I made sure to follow the natural shape of my brows, just enhancing them a bit.
- Blush: I used a peachy-pink blush on my cheeks, giving them a warm glow. I applied it on the apples of my cheeks and blended upwards.
- Lips: I went for a classic red lip. I lined my lips with a red liner and filled them in with a matte red lipstick.
Black Side
- Eyes: I went for a more subtle, smoky look. I used a matte brown eyeshadow all over my lid and blended a darker shade into the crease. I used a black eyeliner pencil to line my eyes and smudged it a bit for a softer look. Added a coat of mascara to my lashes, keeping it simple.
- Eyebrows: I kept my brows natural, just brushing them up with a clear brow gel to keep them in place.
- Contour: I used a dark brown contour powder to define my cheekbones, jawline, and nose. I blended it really well to make sure it looked natural.
- Highlight: I added a shimmery highlighter to the high points of my face—cheekbones, brow bone, nose bridge, and Cupid’s bow. This gave my skin a nice glow.
- Lips: I chose a nude lip gloss to keep it simple and elegant. I lined my lips with a brown liner and filled them in with the gloss.
I set my makeup with a setting spray to make sure it wouldn’t budge. And there you have it, my half Indian, half black look! It was a fun experiment, mixing and matching different styles. I thought it looked pretty cool, and it was definitely a conversation starter. It’s amazing how makeup can let you play with different parts of your identity and create something unique.
