Today, I wanted to check out what my buddy was up to in Fortnite, so I figured I’d spectate his game. I had heard about this feature before but never actually tried it myself.

First, I launched Fortnite and made sure we were both online. We’re already friends on Epic, so that part was easy. Then, I checked my friends’ list, I found his name and saw he was in a match.
Next, I clicked on his name. There was this option that said “Watch Game”, I clicked on it. It took a few seconds, but then I was in! I could see everything he was doing in the game, just like watching a live stream. The camera automatically followed him around, but there was also an option to switch between different players’ perspectives. I played around with that a bit, which was pretty cool.
I watched him play for a while, got a good idea of what he was doing, and where he was going. And after he was done, I exited the spectate mode and we jumped into a game together.
It was actually a pretty smooth experience. No lag or anything, just straight into the action.
- Launch Fortnite: Pretty straightforward, just opened the game on my console.
- Check Friends List: Found my friend’s name and made sure he was in a match.
- Select “Watch Game”: Clicked on his name and then the “Watch Game” option.
- Enjoy the Show: Watched him play and switched between different players.
This spectating thing is definitely something I’ll be doing more often. It’s a neat way to see how your friends play and maybe even learn a few tricks from them.
