Alright, so I wanted to see how many people were still playing Battlefield 1 (BF1). I love that game, and I was curious if it was still alive and kicking.
First, I fired up my trusty old gaming PC. Took a bit to dust it off, literally – had to get the cobwebs off the case!
Finding the Player Count
My first step was to simply try to find servers through BF1 game, and then realized that I could use some fan-made server trackers that might do the trick.
Then I went straight into the game. Found the server browser and peeked around. Started filtering by region and game mode, you know, the usual stuff.
I jotted down some quick numbers from a few different times of day, just to get a rough idea. Morning, afternoon, evening – tried to cover the bases. I noticed the player counts weren’t super high, but there were definitely enough folks on to get some good games going.
I did this for about an hour, playing a few matches and jotting down numbers in between. Mostly focused on the popular modes like Conquest and Operations. Those always seemed to have the most action.
My Rough Conclusions
- Peak Times: Player counts are going up at evenings and weekends, of course. Makes sense, that’s when most people have free time.
- Popular Modes: Conquest and Operations are still the kings. If you’re looking for a full game, those are your best bet.
- It’s Still Alive: BF1 isn’t dead. It ain’t booming like it used to be, but there are still enough players to have fun.
So, yeah, that’s my little experiment with checking the BF1 player count. I can see the game isn’t at its peak anymore, it’s still got a good, dedicated community. Good enough for me to jump back in for a few rounds!
