Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “cigano” thing pop up all over my socials, and honestly, I had no clue what it was. It looked like some kind of fortune-telling cards, but different from tarot. My curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to dive in and see what it was all about. I mean I like to have practices about these things to check whether they are real or not.
First Steps: What is Cigano, Anyway?
First, I started with researching and watching, trying to figure out the basics. Turns out, Cigano (or Baralho Cigano) is a type of Lenormand deck. And, of course I don’t know what Lenormand deck is, so keep researching, I found it’s a system with 36 cards, each with a pretty straightforward image – like a ship, a house, a dog. It’s supposed to be more practical than tarot, focusing on everyday life stuff rather than deep, spiritual mysteries. Okay, cool, I thought. Less woo-woo, more “will I get that job?” which is what I’m looking for.
Getting My Hands Dirty (and My Own Deck)
I’m a hands-on learner, so reading about it wasn’t enough. I ordered a deck online – a pretty standard one, with clear, easy-to-understand pictures. I was so excited to have it.
When I got it, I spent some time just looking at the cards. It was kinda fun. I mean that’s the interesting part.
I found some online resources, some free readings to try out. I mean, why not?

The Actual Practice Part
Okay, here’s where it gets interesting. I decided to try a simple three-card spread for a question I had: “How will my project at work go this week?”
- Card 1 (The Past/Situation): I pulled “The Rider”. I read and try to understand it. According to the book that came with the deck, it often means news or fast-moving energy. Made sense, I guess, I did start to think about the new approach to that project.
- Card 2 (The Present/Challenge): I got “The Clouds”. Okay, not so great. It signifies confusion, uncertainty, and things not being clear. Yeah, felt that too. I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed by all the details.
- Card 3 (The Future/Outcome): “The Sun”. Woohoo! This card is all about success, happiness, and positive energy. Okay, so maybe things will turn out alright after all!
My (Very) Amateur Interpretation
So, putting it all together, my very beginner-level interpretation was this: The project started with a burst of energy and new information (The Rider). I’m currently feeling lost and confused (The Clouds), but the eventual outcome is likely to be positive and successful (The Sun). It wasn’t some mind-blowing revelation, but it did make me feel a bit better. It’s interesting.
The Takeaway (So Far)
Look, I’m not saying I’m a Cigano expert now. Far from it. But this little experiment was actually pretty fun and even a little helpful. It’s less about “predicting the future” and more about giving you a different perspective on things. It’s like a visual brainstorming tool. I think I’ll keep playing around with it, just to see what else I can learn. Maybe I’ll even try a more complex spread next time… I have my eyes on it.
