So, I decided to give this ‘manna one’ thing a try a while back. Heard some chatter about it, figured why not, let’s see what the fuss is all about. Didn’t really have a massive project for it, more like poking around out of curiosity, you know?

Getting Started
First off, getting it set up wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. The instructions I found were okay, but kinda skipped over a few bits. Honestly, spent a good afternoon just figuring out the initial configuration. It wasn’t like installing your everyday app, more fiddly.
- Had to track down some dependencies first. That took some digging.
- Then the actual install process… well, it threw a couple of weird errors. Had to search around online to figure those out.
- Finally got the basic thing running. Felt like a small victory, seriously.
Playing Around With It
Once it was up, I started just messing with the basic functions. Trying to understand what it actually does. It seemed to promise a lot, organizing stuff or managing something… the documentation wasn’t super clear on the why, just the how.
I fed it some test data, just random bits and pieces I had lying around. Watched what happened. It did… things. Some processing happened, files got moved or tagged, I guess. It wasn’t immediately obvious if it was doing what I wanted it to do, or just what it was programmed to do by default.
Spent a few evenings tweaking settings, trying different inputs. It felt a bit like wrestling with it sometimes. You’d change one thing, and something unexpected would happen somewhere else. Definitely a learning curve there. Not the most intuitive tool I’ve ever used, that’s for sure. It reminds me of some older software I used ages ago, powerful maybe, but took effort to bend it to your will.
The Outcome, Sort Of
So, did I end up using ‘manna one’ for anything major? Nah, not really. After messing with it for maybe a week or two, I kind of drifted away. It worked, technically. I got it running, made it do some basic tasks. But the effort to get it really integrated into how I do things seemed like more trouble than it was worth for my simple needs.

Maybe for a specific type of problem, it’s amazing. I can see that possibility. But for me, it felt like using a big industrial machine to crack a single nut. It’s functional, but clunky for general use, at least in my experience. I went back to my old ways, simpler tools that just get the job done without the headache. It’s sitting on my machine still, maybe I’ll revisit it one day if I get really bored or have that perfect problem for it. But for now, it’s just another experiment logged.
