Okay, so I saw this thing going around online about getting free skins in Fortnite using codes. I’m always down to try and snag some free stuff, so I figured, why not? I decided to give it a shot and document my journey.
First, I started by just Googling “Fortnite free skin codes.” I know, super basic, but you gotta start somewhere, right? This brought up a TON of websites and videos, and honestly, it was a little overwhelming. Many seemed super sketchy, with flashing banners and crazy promises.
I decided to be cautious. I’ve heard horror stories about people getting their accounts hacked or their computers filled with viruses from these kinds of things. I stuck to sites that looked at least somewhat reputable, like ones associated with known gaming news outlets or YouTubers I recognized.
- I found a few articles listing “active” codes. Most of them were just listing old event codes that I was pretty sure were already expired.
- I tried a couple anyway, just in case. No luck. As expected, the Fortnite in-game code redemption thing just told me they were invalid.

I spent some time entering a few of those online giveaways and contests. They usually involved things like following social media accounts, liking posts, and tagging friends. Pretty standard stuff. It felt a little tedious, but it was better than risking some shady website.
So, did I get a free skin? Nope, not yet. I’m still entered in a few giveaways, but realistically, the chances of winning are pretty slim. But hey, it was worth a shot, and I didn’t get my account hacked, so that’s a win in my book! To be frank, it’s better not to pin your hopes on it.
