Okay, so today I decided to dive into this “formula 4 racing” thing. I’d seen some stuff about it online, and it looked pretty cool, so I figured, why not give it a shot?

Getting Started
First, I needed to, like, actually understand what it was. Turns out, it’s a student design competition.I spent a good chunk of the morning just reading through the rules and regulations. My brain felt a little fried afterward, but hey, at least I had a better grasp of what I was getting myself into.
The Design Phase
Next up was the fun part – actually thinking about what i need to design. I’m no engineer, mind you, but I do enjoy tinkering. I sketched out some rough ideas on paper, mostly focusing on something that could be simple to me.
I even watched some YouTube videos of past competitions, which was both inspiring and a little intimidating. These students built some seriously impressive machines!
Simulations and Struggles
Figuring out how all the parts would work together was a challenge.I spend much time searching, but it does’t work.

Giving Up (Temporarily!)
Honestly, by the late afternoon, I hit a wall. There were so many rules and restrictions, it was hard to do somethings. I decided to call it a day, grab a coffee, and come back to it later with fresh eyes. You know, sometimes you just need a break to get your head back in the game.
Restart!
I wake up in the next day,and i tried to find another way to think about it.
- Chassis:Used welded steel tubing for a balance of strength, cost, and ease of fabrication.
- Suspension:Implemented a double-wishbone suspension system for optimal handling and adjustability.
- Engine:Chose a spec engine, a 600cc motorcycle engine, to meet the competition requirements and focus on tuning.
The Result (So Far)
It’s still a lot to do, but after a full day,I can create something could fit the rules.
And the simulation show it could work!

So, that’s my “formula 4 racing” journey so far. It’s been a mix of excitement, frustration, and a whole lot of learning. I’m definitely not done yet, but I’m feeling pretty good about the progress I’ve made. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually be able to try something I created!
