Fare eaten by scavengers explained: What you need to know.

Okay, so, today I’m gonna tell you about this little adventure I had with a crossword puzzle. The clue was “fare eaten by scavengers”. I was totally stumped at first. It’s one of those things that seems simple, you know, but then your mind just goes blank. I mean, they just want a five letter words for it!

Fare eaten by scavengers explained: What you need to know.

I started thinking about what scavengers actually eat. You see them picking at leftovers, dead stuff, basically anything they can find. It’s not pretty, but it’s how they survive. I pictured vultures, hyenas, and those kind of creatures. It wasn’t coming to me, so I had to start with what I knew.

Here’s How I Tackled It

  • Brainstorming: I made a list of animals that are known scavengers. Vultures, hyenas, certain types of insects, the whole nine yards. It wasn’t easy, as I really don’t know much about the topic.
  • What they eat: Then I jotted down what these animals are known for eating. Roadkill, leftovers from other predators, you get the idea.
  • The “Aha!” Moment: I remembered this word, “carrion”. It means the decaying flesh of dead animals. And it’s got something to do with these scavengers!

So, I plugged “CARRION” into the crossword, and bam, it fit! Five letters, starting with “C”, and it described exactly what those scavengers are after. I felt pretty smart, not gonna lie. It wasn’t a huge victory, but it was satisfying to crack that clue. I just know that if I didn’t remember the word “carrion”, I would be stuck there for much longer.

It just goes to show that even a simple crossword clue can take you on a little mental journey. You start with a vague idea, do some digging in your brain, and finally, the answer hits you. It’s like a little scavenger hunt in your head, and that’s why I wanted to share this story. It’s quite a simple one, but I think that’s the beauty of it.
