Everest Sanders the Rookie: Will He Succeed? (Experts Weigh In on the New Star)

Man, today was a wild ride. I got this crazy idea to dive into the story of Everest Sanders. You know, the rookie climber who disappeared on Everest a century ago? I’d heard bits and pieces, but never the full story. So, I decided to piece it all together myself, like a detective or something.

First, I started digging around the internet. I found some old articles, some blurry photos, and a whole lot of conflicting information. It felt like everyone had a different theory about what happened to Sanders. Some folks thought he made it to the top, others were sure he fell. Then I bumped into this other climber’s name, Rowan Clausen, who apparently studied with Sanders in France once. This was getting interesting.

I spent hours reading through these old accounts. I felt like I was there, on the mountain, with them. Then I stumbled upon a book review, “The Sky of Everest”, and it seems that it’s got some good stuff about the early expeditions, but I can’t get my hands on it.

Next, I tried to find some solid evidence. I looked at old maps of Everest, trying to trace Sanders’ possible route. I even watched some videos of climbers who’ve been up there, just to get a feel for the place. It’s insane up there, all ice and snow. People even call it an “ice graveyard” because, you know, a lot of folks don’t come back. It sent chills down my spine, thinking about Sanders being up there all alone.

Then, there’s this whole debate about whether Sanders and this other guy, George Mallory, were the first to reach the top. I read about their climb in 1924, how they were trying to make history. It’s all so dramatic, like something out of a movie. Speaking of movies, I watched an episode of “The Rookie” called “Real Crime” to get me in the mood. It had nothing to do with Everest, but it was a fun distraction.

By the end of the day, I was exhausted. My head was spinning with all this information. I still don’t know what really happened to Everest Sanders. It’s like he just vanished into thin air. But I feel like I got a little closer to understanding his story. It’s a mystery that might never be solved, but it sure is fascinating to think about. I even started thinking about all the other mysteries on Everest, like the snow leopards and where all the water comes from that feeds all those people. It’s wild stuff.

Anyway, that’s how I spent my day. It was a bit of a mess, but I enjoyed it. Now, I’m going to get some rest. Maybe tomorrow I’ll dig up some more clues. Who knows?
