Ebony Ladies Golf League: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners!

Okay, so I’ve been hearing about this “Ebony Ladies Golf League” thing and, honestly, I was curious. I mean, you don’t see a ton of groups like that around here, so I figured, why not check it out? First thing I did was try to find them online, you know, just to get a feel for what they’re about.

It took a little digging, I’m not gonna lie. It’s not like they were popping up on the first page of Google. But I finally stumbled across their information. I checked their activity schedule, and saw when and where they were playing.

So, the next weekend rolled around, I grabbed my old clubs – they were gathering dust, I’m ashamed to admit – and headed over to the course. I felt a little awkward at first, showing up solo, not knowing anyone. But I just walked up to the group like I belonged there. Sometimes you gotta fake it ’til you make it, right?

First Impressions

The vibe was immediately welcoming. Seriously, everyone was super friendly. There were ladies of all ages, all skill levels – some looked like they’d been playing for years, others were clearly beginners like me. But it didn’t matter. Everyone was chatting, laughing, giving each other tips. It felt… comfortable.

Getting Into It

I ended up getting paired with a couple of women who were just starting out too. We were terrible, obviously. I sliced one shot so bad, I thought it was gonna end up in the next county. But instead of getting all judgmental, everyone just laughed – including me! – and someone even showed me a little trick to (maybe) help with my slice.

  • We spent the next few hours just hacking our way through the course.
  • There was a lot of “fore!” being yelled.
  • A lot of missed putts.
  • And a whole lot of encouragement.

The Aftermath

By the end of the day, my arms were tired, my face was probably sunburned, and my score was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. But I had a blast. I actually connected with a few of the women, and we exchanged numbers. We’re even planning on hitting the driving range together next week.

So, yeah, my experience with the Ebony Ladies Golf League? Totally positive. It wasn’t about being a pro golfer. It was about community, about having fun, and about trying something new. And honestly, that’s something I think we could all use a little more of.
