Okay, so I decided to tackle this “doo ho choi” thing. I’d heard about it, seen some stuff online, but never actually tried it myself. It’s some kinda record-keeping, project-tracking…thing. Looked neat, so I figured, why not?

First, I googled around a bit. Just to get a basic idea, you know? Didn’t want to go in completely blind. Found some websites, read a few articles, watched a couple of videos. Got a general sense of what it was all about.
Then, I grabbed a notebook. Yeah, an actual, physical notebook. I’m old-school like that. Could’ve used some fancy app, I guess, but I like the feel of pen and paper. More…real, somehow.
Starting My Record
Next up, I picked a project. Couldn’t just record nothing, right? Decided to go with my attempt to finally organize my messy garage. Been putting that off for…well, let’s just say a long time.
- I wrote down the date at the top of the page. Gotta keep track of when things happen, duh.
- Then, I jotted down my goal: “Clean the freaking garage.” Simple, direct, to the point.
- I made a list of all the crap I needed to do: sort through boxes, throw out junk, put up shelves… the whole nine yards.
As I started working, I kept notes. Every time I finished a task, I’d mark it off the list. Felt good, that little checkmark. Like I was actually accomplishing something.
I also wrote down any problems I ran into. Like, “Ran out of garbage bags.” or “Couldn’t find the damn screwdriver.” Stuff like that. Helps to remember those things for next time.

The End Result
Finally, after a few hours (and a lot of sweat), I was done. Garage was (mostly) clean! I wrote a quick summary at the bottom of the page: “Garage cleaned. Still a bit messy, but way better than before.”
And that’s it! My first “doo ho choi” record. It’s not pretty, it’s not perfect, but it’s mine. And it actually helped! I felt more organized, more in control. Might actually keep doing this…
