Dodgers Dragon Ball Z: See Your Favorite Players Go Super Saiyan! This Fan Art Is Insane!

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole Dodgers and Dragon Ball Z thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m a huge fan of both, so I thought, “Why not combine them?” It all started when I was watching a Dodgers game, and a Dragon Ball Z episode back-to-back.

I got this crazy idea to create some fan art mashing up the two. I started by sketching out some ideas. I drew some of the players in Super Saiyan form. First, I drew a few rough sketches, trying to capture the intensity of a Super Saiyan transformation while keeping the players recognizable. It was tougher than I thought! Getting the hair right was a real pain. It’s all spiky and golden, and making it look dynamic and not just a mess of lines took a while.

After I had some decent sketches, I moved on to the digital part. I scanned my sketches and started coloring them in Photoshop. I spent hours trying to get the colors right, especially the Super Saiyan aura. I wanted it to look powerful and energetic, just like in the anime. I used a bunch of different brushes and layer effects to achieve that glowing, electric look.

  • Scanned sketches into Photoshop
  • Colored sketches digitally, focusing on the Super Saiyan aura
  • Experimented with different brushes and layer effects

I also added some action lines and backgrounds to make the images pop. I took inspiration from some of my favorite Dragon Ball Z scenes, like Goku’s first transformation into a Super Saiyan and his epic battle with Frieza. I even found out some interesting stuff about Dragon Ball Z while I was at it. Did you know that Frieza hated Saiyans even before he met Goku because of Goku’s father, Bardock? Apparently, Bardock went to the past and fought Frieza’s ancestor, Chilled, who then warned his descendants about the Saiyans. And there’s this crazy fan theory about Super Saiyan 100 being the most powerful transformation ever.

Anyway, after a lot of trial and error, I finally finished a few pieces that I was pretty happy with. I posted them online, and people seemed to like them, which was cool. I even got a few requests to do more, so I might keep going with this project. It’s been a fun way to combine my two passions and learn more about both the Dodgers and Dragon Ball Z.

Oh, and I learned that Super Saiyan Third Grade is pretty useless. And you know who the rarest Saiyan is? It’s not Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan, but Vegeta’s own son! That blew my mind.

Lessons Learned

  • Drawing Super Saiyan hair is tough!
  • Photoshop is powerful but has a steep learning curve.
  • Combining two passions can lead to fun and creative projects.
  • There’s always more to learn about your favorite things.

So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the Dodgers and Dragon Ball Z. It’s been a blast, and I’m excited to see where it goes next. Maybe I’ll try animating some of these drawings. Who knows! This whole experience has taught me that you can create pretty much anything if you put your mind to it. It might take some time, and a lot of practice, but it’s definitely worth it in the end.
