So, I thought, why not take it up a notch and create something truly unique and controversial?
It all started with an image, an edited one that went viral showing these two football giants kissing. Yeah, you heard that right, kissing! I saw it and thought, “This is insane, but also kind of genius.” This picture had spread like wildfire, and I wanted to recreate it, but with a twist. I didn’t just want to replicate the image; I wanted to make a physical representation of it.
First, I scoured the internet for the original image and any behind-the-scenes info. Turns out, there was this advertisement thing for Louis Vuitton where both Ronaldo and Messi were involved, but they shot their parts separately. That’s when it hit me – I could make sculptures of them! I’m not an artist, but I was determined. I gathered all the clay, tools, and reference images I could find.
- Bought a ton of clay from the local art store.
- Borrowed some sculpting tools from a friend who’s into pottery.
- Printed out a bunch of pictures of Ronaldo and Messi from different angles.
I started with the basic shapes, trying to get their likenesses down. It was tough, I won’t lie. I spent hours just trying to get their faces right. The hair, the eyes, the expressions – it was a nightmare. But I kept at it, day in and day out. I watched countless videos of them, pausing, rewinding, just to capture those tiny details that make them who they are.
Then came the fun part – recreating that controversial kiss. I shaped the clay, molded it, smoothed it out, trying to capture that moment of them embracing and kissing. It was awkward, I’m not gonna lie, but also kind of exciting. I mean, who does this kind of stuff? Me, apparently!
After weeks of hard work, I finally finished the sculptures. They weren’t perfect, but they were mine. I set them up, just like in the original picture, with a football at their feet. I even added a little rose, just like in that graffiti on a bus stop in Barcelona that showed them kissing. Talk about attention to detail, right?
The Big Reveal
I decided to unveil my masterpiece on social media. I took some high-quality photos and even a video of the whole process, showing how I went from a lump of clay to these two iconic figures locked in a kiss. I posted it, and man, did it blow up! People were shocked, amazed, and some were even a bit disturbed. But hey, that’s the reaction I was going for.
In the end, this whole project was a wild ride. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was definitely controversial. But that’s what makes it memorable.
