Destiny 2 Featured Raids: Tips and Tricks for Beginners

Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through my experience tackling those featured raids in Destiny 2. Let me tell you, it was a journey! I’m talking about the kind of journey where you question your life choices at least three times, but hey, that’s Destiny, right?

Destiny 2 Featured Raids: Tips and Tricks for Beginners

First off, I had to figure out which raid was actually featured. Bungie doesn’t exactly make it super clear sometimes. I hopped online, checked a couple of forums, and finally confirmed it was the King’s Fall raid. Alright, King’s Fall it is!

Next up: assemble the squad. I put out a call to my usual Destiny buddies, but a few were busy. Ended up LFG-ing for a couple of extra guardians. You know how it goes, gotta sift through the “KWTD” (Know What To Do) crowd and find some chill people who are willing to actually teach a thing or two.

We dove in. Right from the start, things were… chaotic. The opening encounter with the Tombships? We wiped like, four times before we got our act together. Coordination was key, and let’s just say, communication wasn’t exactly our strong suit at first. I was calling out platforms, someone else was yelling about the knights, and another guy was just… well, he was just making sound effects. Good times.

Then came the Warpriest. Now, I’ve done Warpriest before, but for some reason, this time felt extra sweaty. We messed up the brand sequence twice, resulting in some very colorful language on my end. Finally, after adjusting our positions and calming down a bit, we got it down. The relief was palpable.

Golgoroth was a whole other beast. That encounter is always a pain in the butt, mainly because it requires so much focus and coordination. The gaze holders need to stay alive, the damage dealers need to pump out the numbers, and everyone needs to avoid those nasty axion darts. We wiped a bunch here too, experimenting with different strategies. Eventually, we settled on a two-gaze strategy that worked reasonably well. Took us like an hour, I swear.

Daughters of Oryx? Surprisingly smooth! We actually one-phased them, which was a pleasant surprise after the Golgoroth debacle. Everyone knew their roles, and we executed perfectly. Okay, maybe not perfectly, but close enough.

Finally, Oryx himself. This is where the real fun began. So many bombs, so many ogres, so much jumping. We had a few close calls, but we eventually got into a rhythm. After what felt like an eternity, we finally brought him down! The collective cheer on Discord was deafening. Loot rained down, friendships were forged (and possibly strained), and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

  • Things I learned:
  • Communication is absolutely crucial. Even if it sounds stupid, call it out.
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment with different strategies. What works for one team might not work for yours.
  • Patience is a virtue, especially when dealing with LFG groups.
  • Bring your best weapons and armor. Every little bit helps.
  • And most importantly, have fun! It’s just a game, after all.

Overall, it was a tough but rewarding experience. Getting through a featured raid, especially one as challenging as King’s Fall, is always a good feeling. Now I’m just hoping the next featured raid is something a little easier… maybe Vault of Glass? We’ll see!
