Alright, so I wanted to dig into Dan Severn’s record. I’d heard so much about this guy, a real legend, so I figured, why not check it out myself? No fancy tools, just me, my computer, and a whole lot of clicking.

Getting Started
First things first, I fired up my browser. I started, you know where everyone starts, I typed in “Dan Severn MMA record” and hit enter. A ton of stuff popped up, so many different sites.
Digging Through the Results
I started clicking through a few of the top results. I was just trying to get a general feel for his career, wins, losses, that kind of stuff. I noticed some of the websites had things better organized and some where pretty hard to follow.
I really started paying attention to which site seemed the most accurate. Cross-referencing is key, right? Can’t just trust one source.
Compiling the Data
After checking out a couple of sources, I started a simple list. Nothing fancy, just:
- Opponent
- Win/Loss/Draw
- Method (like, did he knock the guy out, or was it a submission?)
- Event
- Date
I just went through, fight by fight, adding to my list. It was a little tedious, but I wanted to be thorough. I wanted to see the whole picture, not just the highlights.

Double-Checking and Refining
Once I had a pretty good list going, I went back and double-checked some of the earlier entries. Sometimes I’d find a discrepancy between two sites, so I’d have to dig a little deeper to see which one seemed more likely to be correct. This involved opening even MORE tabs. My browser was starting to look a little crowded!
It was long, and I did my best to keep track, and by comparing it to a few different websites, I think I’ve got it down as accurate as I can get it!
