So, I finally got around to checking out the newer Atlanta Braves stadium up in Cobb County. Been meaning to go since they moved from downtown, just never got around to it. Heard mixed things, you know, about the location, the vibe, all that.

Getting there was the first step, obviously. Planned it out a bit, looked at the map. Decided to drive. Traffic wasn’t too bad until we got close, right off I-75. Then it slowed down like usual around there. Parking was… well, stadium parking. Found a spot in one of the decks nearby. Had to walk a little bit, but it wasn’t terrible.
First Look Around
Walking up, the first thing that hit me was how much else was there besides just the ballpark. This whole area they call “The Battery” – it’s packed. Restaurants, bars, some shops, even apartments I think. It felt like its own little town square, buzzing with people way before the game even started. Definitely different from the old spot.
We spent some time wandering through The Battery first. Lots of choices for food and drinks outside the gates, which was nice. Grabbed a quick bite at one of the casual places. The atmosphere was pretty electric, lots of fans already decked out in Braves gear.
Inside the Park
Okay, time to head in. Went through security, standard procedure. Once inside, the stadium felt really open. You could walk along the main level and still see the field from a lot of places, which I liked. Didn’t feel boxed in like some older parks.
Found our seats. View was pretty good! Seemed like they designed it so most seats have a decent look at the field. Everything looked clean, modern. Lots of video screens, which you expect nowadays.

Did some exploring before the first pitch:
- Walked around the main concourse. Saw the different food stands – tons of variety, more than just hot dogs and peanuts, though I stuck with a classic dog later.
- Checked out the monument garden area behind home plate. They had statues, history displays, the Hank Aaron statue is there too. That was really well done, paid good tribute to the team’s past.
- Saw the kids’ zone area from afar. Looked like it had a lot for families.
The overall feel inside? It’s definitely modern. Big, bright, lots of amenities. Maybe felt a little less gritty, more polished than Turner Field, if that makes sense. But it was comfortable.
Game Time and Final Thoughts
The game itself was fun. Crowd was into it, loud. That big centerfield screen is massive. They still do the chop thing, lots of energy when the Braves were doing well. You get caught up in it.
So, what’s the verdict? It’s a nice park. A very nice park. It’s more than just a stadium; it’s an entertainment destination with The Battery right there. Made it easy to hang out before and after the game without having to drive somewhere else immediately.
Is it the same as the old downtown vibe? No, it’s different. Some folks might miss the old location, I get that. This feels more suburban, maybe a bit more manufactured. But as a place to watch baseball, with modern comforts and lots to do around it, it works pretty well. I had a good time, saw a good game, and experienced the whole complex. Definitely something to see for yourself if you get the chance.
