Okay, so I wanted to get back into collecting Pokemon cards recently. You know, for the nostalgia. But then I realized, I have no idea how I’m going to store these things! Do I need special sleeves? What size are they anyway?

Figuring Out the Size
First things first, I grabbed a card and a ruler. I mean, that’s the most obvious way to do it, right? I measured the card, and it came out to be about 2.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. Seems like a pretty standard size.
Confirming My Measurements
But just to be sure, I did a quick search. Turns out, I was right! Most sources confirmed that the standard Pokemon card size is indeed 2.5 x 3.5 inches, or 63 x 88 millimeters for those using the metric system.
Sleeves and Storage
Now that I knew the size, I could start looking for sleeves. There are tons of options out there, some specifically designed for Pokemon cards. I found that it is important get “standard size” sleeves. These are designed to fit cards of that 2.5 x 3.5 inch dimension.
I also looked into storage options. Binders with nine-pocket pages seem to be the popular choice. And guess what? Those pockets are also made to fit standard-sized cards!
My Takeaway
- Standard Pokemon Card Size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches (63 x 88 mm)
- Get standard size sleeves.
- Binders with 9-pocket pages are a good choice.
So, yeah, it was a pretty simple process. I measured, I searched, I found what I needed. Now I can start collecting without worrying about damaging my precious cards. Good stuff!
